This full day trip takes you across the Ayearwaddy River to Inwa (Ava) – the ancient imperial capital of Burma from 14th to 19th century, Sagaing and Amarapura. Take boat ride on the river, visit impressive temples, monasteries and have a glimpse of local life.
Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Mandalay around 8:00am. Start excursion to Amarapura – the ancient capital of Myanmar Kingdom. First visit Maha Ganda Yone – a prominent Buddhist monastery where around 700 monks reside and study Buddhism. Take a stroll on the world’s longest wooden Bridge U Bein and enjoy the view over the waters.
After lunch, you will continues to the former Royal Capital of Inwa also known as Ava by a quick boat trip. Explore Nan Myint Watch Tower and it’s surrounding to see the Silver Smith Cottage and Rattan Workshop. Go towards to Bagaya Monastery for its impressive woodcarvings and teak structure.
Then drive to Sagaing Hill, which is a retreat for Buddhists and offers the most incredible view of the river below, the bridge and Ava area with Mandalay in the far out. After the breathtaking sunset, you will drive back to Mandalay. End of services.
