This day trip starts from Hanoi, discover the rich tradition of handcrafted products made by dexterous and creative workers. Villages in the vicinity of Hanoi have been the country’s artisanal cradle of skilled crafts, folk arts, and traditional festivals for centuries. The first stop is the pottery village of Bat Trang, known for its beautiful ceramic products. Continue toward Dong Ho, famous for its wooden paintings. Head to the woodcarving village of Dong Ky and the knitting village of Phu Vinh.
Our guide and driver will come to meet you at your hotel in Hanoi around 8:30am. It will take half an hour to get to first destination: Bat Trang ceramic village where you will take a walk round to learn how they prepare the kilns, clay and glare. Show room is a place where you can see lots of artwork and find good souvenirs. You will leave Bat Trang for a 45 minute drive to But Thap pagoda; it used to be a well-known Buddhism center in old time. Its architecture and landscape around is highlight. Go on some km more you will reach to Dong Ho Wood block paintings, where there are few families doing their job and it is deeply imbues with traditional color. You will head to Bac Ninh city for lunch. Then continue to Dong Ky woodcarving, where you meet lots of skillful, patient carpenters making from tiny huge wooden products. Return Hanoi late in the afternoon. End of your handicraft village tour.
